The Tianshan Bauxite Delegation has completed the evaluation of the bauxite project and held talks with the local government and port authority. Negotiations proceeded smoothly. Australian Bauxite Co., Ltd. and its partner, Indian Ramin Mining Private Limited, signed a bauxite supply agreement with Tianshan Bauxite. Both will supply bauxite to a low-temperature alumina refinery under construction in Tianshan Aluminum Industry, initially with a total supply of about 500,000 tons, and then gradually increase to 1 million tons.
It is reported that the bauxite project is located 115 kilometers southwest of Bandurburg Port. The bauxite produced by the project is very suitable for low temperature alumina smelting and some high temperature desulfurization processes. It is reported that Debao Port will use large bulk carriers to transport bauxite. If the results of trial production are in line with expectations, the Australian Bauxite Company and the Indian Ramin Mining Company plan to start the bauxite project by the end of 2019.
In addition, an agreement on the use of preferred storage sites at Banderburg Port is also being actively promoted. Relevant engineering studies will ensure that bauxite projects do not affect other port customers. An agreement is expected in April-May.
